I love the moment in the same sequence as the cracking window scene in The Lost World when Julianne Moore sees the huge eye of the T-Rex when it leans down to peer at her through the window of the camper. Then she turns her head as ANOTHER T-Rex peers through the opposite window!

My big question when I sat down to watch was, "What else can he do to beat Jurassic Park?" And then in that scene HE DID IT.

It was completely unexpected and it shook me.

I hate Hook with a passion, but the scene with the little Lost Boy saying "There you are, Peter!" is just wonderful. It feels like it belongs in a different, much better movie.

The moment in "Close Encounters" that always gets me is the simple shot of the technician who'll play the keyboard for the mothership. In retrospect it's a stereotypical "Spielberg Dollies In To A Face In Wonderment" moment, but it's the combination of the actor's gaze, the speed of the dolly, and the precise moment of John Williams' score that damn near brings me to tears. Every time.

One of my favorite Spielberg sequences comes in one of my favorite movies, Catch Me If You Can. Tom Hanks's character Hanratty has tracked Leo's Frank to a hotel and bursts into his room. Just as he thinks he's caught Frank, the kid pretending to be Secret Service, distracts him enough to get out of there. The realization on Hanks's face when he opens the wallet and realizes he too has been scammed by Frank is terrific.
