Carl, Christ was born in 0 A.D.? Please tell me you are joking. Reading your other posts, you aren’t, are you? Carl, what is the first day of January? Is it zero or 1? When you count your fingers, do you start with zero? No, you start with 1. You always start with 1, because zero means none – there isn’t any zero. We put one at the end of ten and two at the end of 100 to end the base ten sequence. Zero wasn’t even invented as a concept until way after the other numbers.

I will give you that in modern times we do tend to celebrate and many think of centuries as starting with 00, but, it is always wrong and probably done to capitalize on our eagerness to get there and for economic reasons. Also, with computers, we needed to make adjustments for when the first two numbers of a year started with 20. . . b/c no one had planned for it and the computers didn’t were not programmed to handle it. And we did, in fact, celebrate the millennium a year early, as was frequently noted back then.

BTW, no one says Christ, presuming he was a real person (I think he was), was born in ’00. There’s no official year, because no one knows, but most guesses/estimates are in the range of 4 or 6 B.C. And if you look at timeline histories that record by the year – there is no year zero. 1 B.C. is followed by 1 A.D. For example, go to Wikipedia’s list of years. Every century starts with 1, such as 1, 101, 201, etc. This is universally accepted by serious chroniclers.

i’ll explain further so you don’t have to reply, if you dont count 0AD as a year then 365 days of that year don’t count, i.e 30 th december 0 AD would mean christ had been around for 1 year all but 1 day and yet you are counting it as no time what so ever

not true, christ was born 0 AD therefore 99 AD was the last of that century otherwise a century would be 101 years and not 100, and 2000 AD is the new century and last 1999 AD
