It's so tired. If you don't like the prequels, don't watch the prequels. How old were you when the original trilogy came out? If you were a child and remember the excitement and wonder that those movies elicited, then you might understand how other generations feel about the prequels. Lucas never set out to make a new mythology for embittered 30 and 40 year olds. He set out to make a new mythology for kids.
