Venice Film Festival 2023: The 17 Most Anticipated Movies To Watch

“The Killer”
Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Alexis Nolent and illustrated by Luc Jacamon, “The Killer” is David Fincher’s latest psychological action thriller. Said to have been in development since 2007, it tells the story of a kio is battling his employers and himself on an international manhunt. The film stars Michael Fassbender, Tilda Swinton, Kerry O’Malley, Monique Ganderton, and Charles Parnell. 

“Priscilla”  
Told through Priscilla’s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the story of Elvis and Priscilla Presley that many haven’t seen in popular culture before. From a German army base and a long courtship to a turbulent marriage and Graceland, the film gives us a glimpse of the unknown private moments. The film is based on the book “Elvis and Me” by Priscilla Presley and Sandra Harmon. Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi star.

“Finalmente L’alba”
Set in the 1950s, a young Roman woman is on the verge of getting married. When she goes to Cinecitta to audition, she is thrust into an infinite night during which she discovers herself. “Finalmente L’alba” is written and directed by Saverio Costanzo (“Hungry Hearts,” “My Brilliant Friend”), and the period drama stars Lily James, Rebecca Antonaci, Joe Keery, Rachel Sennott, Alba Rohrwacher, and Willem Dafoe.

“Origin”
Competing for the Golden Lion is Ava DuVernay’s film “Origin,” which is based on “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents” by Isabel Wilkerson. The film focuses on the remarkable work and life of Wilkerson, who is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, as she investigates injustice and uncovers a hidden truth. The DuVernay-directed film stars Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Jon Bernthal, Niecy Nash-Betts, Vera Farmiga, Audra McDonald, Nick Offerman, Victoria Pedretti, and Finn Wittock.
