Last year Silver Lining Playbook had 8 noms including all four in acting and the other important ones with directing, writing, editing, and picture, and it only won ONE for supporting actress. So this year American Hustle is nomed for the exact same categories only adding to it, costume and production design, and everyone is losing their shit!!! Argo won last year with a lot less noms and stupid ones at that like the two sound categories. I loved American Hustle but it could easily just win only ONE again and of course it would go to Lawrence again. Everyone is crying that 12 Years Slave didn’t get a cinematography nom but neither did American Hustle!

I've seen the majority of the front runners and think it's the weakest 'contender'. I think all David O. Russell films are the same, he just makes the best 'average' films, theirs no distinct style here, I dont think he's a patch on visionaries like Paul Thomas Anderson, The Coens or Scorsese. According to the Academy though, he's the second coming of Kubrick!

The only acting nomination it deserved aswell was Amy Adams. Bradley Cooper was ok, Bale done is best De Niro impression and Jennifer Lawrence was a little girl playing dress up.

From all the great black films this year only '12 Years a Slave' got nominated. And this film got less nominations then 'American Husle' (over rated) and 'Gravidy' (great but '12 Years…'was way better). I guess a black filmshould be 10 times as good to be recognized by the Academy. And Sundance film that got passed by the Academy members and Golden Globes. I think there is still something wrong here in Hollywood. Hollywood is run by white people and they will not acknowledge the black film makers as equals. This is a sad day in film. We should all look at our self and change the way we think.
