That’s exactly the point. That contrasts with the rest of the movie which is what makes the giant rampaging Marshmellow divergent from the rest of the way the movie is portrayed.

I’m not saying its not a comedy or not a funny movie. My point is just that cinematically and tonally its not just everyone running around mugging for the camera like Urkel on Cocaine.

If you’re one of those people who wants to talk about how the original Ghostbusters isn’t played as a comedy, there is literally no point discussing anything with you. This is a movie where a man gets a blow job from a ghost and a giant marshmallow man parades through the streets of New York. Get out of here.

Also almost every shot is an above the waist straight on medium shot. The movie might as well be Weekend Update. Hell you could make most of the movie with muppets thats how rare you see legs or a full body.

Honestly the two movies arent even close when it comes to visual framing. Its not even arguable.

Something Ive read is that the new Ghostbusters is shot like a typical studio comedy. Whereas the original is shot more like serious film. Its a more realistic scenario wherein the actors arent in on the joke whereas in the new version its played like a comedy from the start.

Yeah, because the original Ghostbusters was such a visual masterpiece of high comedy.

Sausage Party was pretty bad. It was basically Shark Tale with dick/pussy jokes.

Its not so much a movie as it is a hour and a half long episode of a CBS sitcom with worse cinematography.

Because it was nowhere near as bad as the trash on this list, probably.

I am baffled by the amount of love that movie gets.

Still, good on you for not drinking the Sausage Party Kool-Aid like so many others.

PS: Should we make a rule to exclude comic book movies from these lists altogether? They are not meant for critical appreciation and granted – BvS and Suicide Squad were a couple of clusterfucks – but it was nowhere nearly as bad as the worst movies of this year. Anticipation was sky-high and we got a mediocre movie with a couple of cool scenes but none of these movies -. Marvel/DC/Anything – deserve to be in the top or bottom of any lists.

PS: I actually liked Batman v. Superman, Suicide Squad, Ghostbusters, Zoolander 2, Brothers Grimsby & Gods Not Dead 2.

It wasn’t good…but I liked it. I’m still confused that there is as much hate as there is. I mean, it had some fun set pieces, some interesting design. Was incredibly silly but I thought it was in a fun way.
