I am Mariam used every single spell worker on the internet, spent untold amounts of money and discovered they are all fakes…i was the fool though; doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Melancholia is one of my favorite movies in recent years. While I certainly never considered it a wedding movie, I definitely believed it had the best wedding sequence in a film of another genre since The Godfather.

Thanks for supporting two very underrated gems: Muriel's Wedding ( funny , charming, and gut-renching ) and Rachel Getting Married ( the incredible live music and the extraordinary cinematography are to die for ) . Not only are both films great, but their performances still lingers. Muriel's Wedding's Toni Collette and Rachel Griffiths deserved Oscar nominations, and Rachel Getting Married's Rosemarie Dewitt should have been Oscar nominated with Anne Hathaway. It is very rare that actors can make me believe they are siblings, but the very persuasive performances of Hathaway and Dewitt compelled me to believe.

Four Weddings And A Funeral is one of the few commercial comedies that I can tolerate, only, because of the wonderful chemistry of the cast and the unforgettable comedic performances. Hugh Grant did the impossible. Grant pulled-off his comedic and physical scenes with aplomb ( never over-doing it, like Jim Carrey ) , he brilliantly and seamlessly delivered his lines, and he displayed some of the best comedic timing and facial expressions ever captured on film . Don Knotts and John Ritter would be proud. Where was Hugh Grant's Oscar ?!
