What about Perfect Blue? It might be a little bit uncertain just what's going on in most scenes but even if it's illusory, dopplegangers are definitely a strong theme within the film.

I'll toss in another Kim Novak film, The Legend of Lylah Clare, directed by Robert Aldrich, about a young actress cast to play a notorious 30s movie star who dies under mysterious and scandalous circumstances. The old star takes possession of the young actress as the bio pic gets closer to shooting.
