I did not find S2 silly, but rather a bit darker in tone. The character whose evolution impacted me the most, was Montgomery’s. From harmless jock to almost main antagonist this season, his evilness was something I couldn’t see coming. And for me, the highlight of S2 was a weird moment that was not addressed during the rest of the season: Alex getting a boner while wrestling with Zach raised a lot of questions, although I believe that it was the writer’s way of getting back to the audience proclaiming that Jessica should realize Alex was gay (the character is not, while the actor is). S2 is a lot to take, mentally. Dont know if its appropiate for junior high teens.
