They want us to forget about \”Origins\”, but now they\’re going against continuity in the first three movies. In the opening scene of X3, when Charles and Erik arrive at Jean\’s house, Charles stands up out of the car, and they focus in on his feet…showing that he can walk. That was supposed to be in the mid-1980\’s, so we are to believe that he became unable to walk after that. Here, they say that we will see why he\’s in the wheelchair, but it\’s going to take place in the 1960\’s. Doesn\’t make sense.

All I see here is that Platt is a government op. nothing that says he couldn\’t also be Leland or Pierce. With his impressive resume Platt will be a character with a name that fans recognize, same goes for the Michael Ironside cameo, even if its as short as Bill Dukes\’ appearance as Trask in X3.

I also wouldn\’t rule out set-ups for potential sequels like an appearances by Sinister or Apocalypse or even that the Havok is Scotts father is a lie and we see a young Scott and Jean, but I only know as much as you. I can dream though.

As far as reimaginings of X-Men go, this movie looks like it will be amazing. I don\’t think that Magneto\’s arc from good to bad is much of a spoiler. He\’s freaking Magneto. And Xavier won\’t be able to walk? Spoiler?

Lydia – when Oliver Platt was cast, there was some early speculation he was Shaw or Leland, esp as they kept his part vague. When it was announced Bacon was Shaw, the Leland rumor popped up again, but it was short-lived as they announced Platt was \”MiB\” right after and a few Will Smith/TLJ jokes followed.

The more stuff I see from this movie, the more I think Fox really stiffed the budget on this one. Some of the make-up stuff looks sub-Buffy.

Everyone says Cap or thor is going to be the comic movie of the summer, but first class could steal the show. It definitely has the potential, but it\’s understandable that some would still be skeptical based on the rushed production and Fox\’s last two forays into the X-verse. The first trailer was really promising though.

I don\’t recall seeing any mention of them sadly. Of the currently known remaining cast, there\’s one person in a Hellfire Club role that isn\’t named. I\’d be floored if they kept it so lowkey and rolled it out to be someone like the White or Black Bishop but my hopes as it is aren\’t too high for this film at all.

Kelsey Grammer was spot on as beast. There are a lot of things to complain about in that movie, but his performance/casting is not one of them.

Of course, Playlist, he\’s no Ryan Gosling!

and FYI holy crap does \”First Class\” look awful. Amazing how they keep screwing up these movies.
