I disagree with the comments about iconic roles like Forrest Gump needing to be on the list. While it made my list, I don’t think there’s any way to truly decide what the 10 best are when you have Tom Hanks status. You get dangerously close to being restricted by the blockbuster Oscar wins and then you’re choosing a film which may be as a whole deserving of a lot of praise, but it doesn’t mean the actor’s performance is automatically better than another film. Give me That Thing You Do! over Forrest Gump any day.
